Elodie Games, a development studio comprising veteran game developers from Riot Games, Blizzard Entertainment, and BioWare, has unveiled its latest project called Project Skies, a free-to-play cooperative action role-playing game (RPG) featuring cross-play. Although the game’s supported platforms have not been announced, pre-alpha playtest sign-ups are now open.
According to the game's overview provided by Elodie Games, Project Skies draws inspiration from the developers' previous works such as League of Legends, World of Warcraft, and Dragon Age. It is a social cooperative action RPG game that offers deep progression and replayability. Players can take control of iconic champions and explore the vibrant, uplifting fantasy universe of Project Skies. The gameplay experience is highly co-op, creating a casual and competitive atmosphere among players.
The game is being developed as a fully cross-play experience, allowing players to switch platforms and retain their progress. The underlying technology and art direction of the game are designed to create a fully featured experience on all platforms.
The development of Project Skies is still in its early stages, but Elodie Games has already opened registration for pre-alpha playtests on both PC and mobile devices. The studio will increase the frequency and size of its playtests throughout the year, and registered players will receive email alerts when a spot opens up.
Co-founders David Bednar and Gio Pimentel expressed their excitement about the project, stating: "We're excited to start welcoming players in our upcoming pre-alpha playtests on both PC and mobile devices. We hope to create a game that brings players together and fosters a strong sense of community."
Project Skies has already generated a lot of interest in the gaming community, and players are eager to get their hands on the game.
