n a recent episode of the Dean's Speaker Series at Berkley Haas University, NVIDIA's Co-Founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang sat down for a fireside chat on his entrepreneurial journey, the company culture at NVIDIA, and the behind-the-scenes of the GPU market.
During the discussion, when asked by one of the students about ChatGPT and OpenAI's powerful chatbot, Huang had high praise for the technology, calling it the "iPhone moment" of AI.
"ChatGPT is a very, very big deal," said Huang. "In just a few days, it has reached tens of millions of people, and everyone is using it for different reasons and finding it delightful. This is the iPhone moment of artificial intelligence."
The CEO went on to discuss ChatGPT's versatility and potential applications, stating that it can "automate something for you" no matter what your profession and that it has "democratized computing in a very, very large way."
"What OpenAI has done, and what the team over there has done, genuinely is one of the greatest things that have ever been done for computing," said Huang. "And I'm very, very excited about that."
